BOSTON – Starting the 2026 calendar year, the Boston University women's basketball program travels to American for its Patriot League road opener on Saturday (Jan. 3). Opening tip is set for 1 p.m.

BU (4-8, 0-1 PL) capped its non-conference road slate with a 2-4 record, posting wins over Northeastern and New Haven. The Terriers are 6-6 all-time in their Patriot League road lidlifters.

American (2-10, 0-1 PL) also seeks its first conference win. The Eagles are 2-3 at Bender Arena on the campaign.

TERRIER TIDBITS

BU opened conference play with a 77-64 loss to preseason favorite Navy on Dec. 31 at Case Gym.
The Terriers trailed by as many as 24 points in a game where Navy did not trail.
Senior Anete Adler led all scorers with 23 points on 10-of-17 shooting from the field, the latter matching her career highs.
Classmate Anastasiia Semenova scored 10 points in just 13 minutes off the bench, eight coming in the second quarter.
BU ranks second in the Patriot League with a team .418 field goal percentage. Adler is third in the conference with a 47.6 percent clip.
Junior Aoibhe Gormley and sophomore Inez Gallegos made their season debuts against Navy. Since the start of the 2024-25 season, Gormley is second in the Patriot League in assist/turnover ratio during the conference slate.
Junior Inés Monteagudo Pardo is the conference leader with a .447 three-point percentage. She has nailed eight of her last 13 three-pointers.
BU is just 2-8 in their last 10 Patriot League road contests.

SCOUTING AMERICAN

The Eagles fell to Loyola Maryland in their Patriot League opener, 68-59.
American posted non-conference wins over UMBC (65-61) and Delaware State (66-63).
Molly Driscoll and Madisyn Moore-Nicholson pace the Eagles with 13.7 and 11.1 points per game, respectively. Charlotte Tuhy averages 10.6 points and 9.9 rebounds per contest.
American was projected to finish 10th in the Patriot League preseason poll under first-year head coach Kelly Killion.
Last year, the Eagles went 1-29 on the season, its lone win coming against Lafayette.

SERIES HISTORY

Saturday marks the 31st all-time meeting between BU and American in a series that began in 1981.
The Eagles sport a 17-13 edge in the rivalry, though BU has won three straight matchups.
BU is 3-13 on the road against American, but two wins have occurred in the past two seasons.
The Terriers swept last year's regular season series, taking a 70-67 contest in the nation's capital before defeating the Eagles at home, 82-72.
Sisi Bentley scored 15 points in the road win while Adler dropped a career-high 24 points at The Roof.
