HOW IT HAPPENED
- Both teams combined to miss the first 11 shots of the game before senior Anastasiia Semenova found sophomore Hildur Gunnsteinsdóttir in the left corner for a three-pointer to ignite the scoring at the 6:09 mark, sparking a 9-2 Terrier run over the next 3:58.
- BU led 11-6 after one quarter, but the Eagles utilized a 10-2 run to start the third quarter with Ellie Pingree's left-wing three staking the home side to a 16-13 advantage.
- Bentley converted a second-chance layup to slice the deficit to one, but American countered with 12 consecutive points over the final 6:04, capped with Elizabeth Archer's triple, to go up 28-15 at halftime.
- Bentley scored two more buckets on the right block in the third quarter, with her second pulling BU within 35-24 near the frame's midpoint.
- An underhanded layup and runner down the right lane from junior Aoibhe Gormley plus a left-wing three-pointer from classmate Bella McLaughlin created a 7-1 Terrier run to end the third quarter. American remained ahead, 38-31.
- Laura Nogues sandwiched Adler's and-1 basket with a pair of three-pointers to open the fourth quarter. Moore-Nicholson and senior Audrey Ericksen then traded their own triples as American maintained a 10-point lead with seven minutes left in regulation.
- The Terriers made it a two-possession game, 47-41, following Gunnsteinsdóttir's putback layup with 4:35 to go. However, Driscoll nailed a corner three on the next play to return American's lead to nine.
- Gunnsteinsdóttir responded with a layup, then she found Adler for a layup at the 1:25 mark to bring BU within 50-45. However, Moore-Nicholson canned a left elbow jumper to seal the Eagles' victory.
