January 31, 2026 | Men's Lacrosse
Shannehan, a preseason All-Patriot League selection earlier this month, was also No. 44 in Inside Lacrosse's annual ranking of the top 50 men's college lacrosse players. The 2025 Patriot League and ECAC Rookie of the Year, Shannehan was also ranked No. 1 on Inside Lacrosse's Final Freshman Impact Rankings following last season.
As a rookie, Shannehan earned First Team All-Patriot League accolades, was a Second Team All-New England honoree and was also selected as a USA Lacrosse Magazine All-American. He led all NCAA freshmen with 61 points thanks to 32 goals and 29 assists. Shannehan also matched Vince D'Alto and Chris Gray as the fastest Terriers to 50 career points, doing so in 12 games.
A native of Fairfield, Connecticut, Shannehan also shined on the international stage for Team USA, winning silver at the World Lacrosse Men's U20 Championship. Shannehan was tied for seventh among all players with 24 points on 12 goals and 12 assists. Ten of those points (3g, 7a) came in an impressive 26-0 win over England in the quarterfinals. Shannehan is the first Terrier to win a medal at this tournament.
