BOSTON – Hitting the road, the Boston University men's basketball team will visit Lafayette Wednesday night for a 7 p.m. tip.

The Terriers started off Patriot League play with two tightly-contested losses to the 2025 conference tournament finalists, first falling at preseason favorite Navy (82-77) and then at home to defending champion American (64-62). The Leopards rebounded from an 85-77 home loss to Colgate with 79-64 victory at Loyola Maryland.

TERRIER TIDBITS

Three Terriers are currently averaging 12+ pts. with junior Michael McNair leading the way at 15.0 ppg with the help of a team-high 47 3-pointers.
Freshman Chance Gladden (12.6 ppg) earned BU's first in-season honor as the Patriot League Rookie of the Week after scoring a season-high 26 against the Midshipmen and then 19 vs. the Eagles.
Sophomore Ben Defty leads BU in rebounding (6.5 rpg) and blocks (1.6 bpg) after earning his third double-double of the season against American with 10 points and career-high 12 boards.
BU is 2-7 away from Case Gym, earning a 76-75 OT victory at Northeastern and 75-74 win over Harvard at the Basketball Hall of Fame Showcase in Connecticut.
BU is averaging 73.8 ppg and 47.9 FG% while holding opponents to 75.3 ppg and 47.8 FG%.

SCOUTING LAFAYETTE

The Leopards are 3-4 at home compared to 1-7 road mark with wins vs. Ball St. (55-37), Mercyhurst (79-71) and Dickinson (79-44). Their win over Loyola Md. on Saturday snapped a four-game losing streak.
Two Leopards are averaging double figures in points with 6-foot-0 guard Caleb Williams leading the way at 17.3 with 6-foot-4 wing Andrew Phillips next at 15.1 ppg. They are a combined 83-214 (.388) from behind the arc.
5-foot-10 guard Mark Butler (9.9 ppg) owns a team-high 4.1 apg, while Shareef Jackson (9.7 ppg) leads at 6.1 rpg.
Lafayette is averaging 71.3 and 42.7 FG% while holding opponents to 76.6 ppg and 45.3 FG%.

SERIES HISTORY

BU leads the all-time series, 21-11, with a 10-5 record at Lafayette.
Both home teams won last season with the Terriers posting a 66-64 win and coming up short, 60-46, after the road team won both contests in 2024.
