ANNAPOLIS, Md. – The Boston University men's soccer team showed dominance on both sides of the pitch during a 2-0 victory over Navy on Saturday afternoon at the Glenn Warner Soccer Facility.

Senior Andrea Di Blasio put the Terriers on the board, connecting with assists from junior Dylan Williams and freshman Jack Grossman. Williams then went on to score his first career goal off an assist from junior Pharis Petrica to bring the game to 2-0. In net, senior Ben Alexander recorded his fourth consecutive clean sheet, marking the ninth of his career and his fifth at BU.

Additionally, this victory marks the first time since the 2004 season that the Terriers have tabbed four consecutive clean sheets.

HOW IT HAPPENED

Senior Lapo Romieri got things going in this Patriot League meeting, taking the first shot of the afternoon at the 4' mark, which allowed Navy's Sam Clark to make a save.
At the 9' mark, Army's Duncan Sullivan took the Midshipmen's first shot of the game, which was saved by Alexander. Less than thirty seconds later, Alexander recorded a second save off a shot by Jack Illig.
Navy's Illig was assessed a yellow card in the 11^th minute.
In the 12^th minute, Grossman and Williams connected with Di Blasio for his third goal of the season, giving BU a 1-0 lead.
Alexander recorded his third save in the 13^th minute, preventing a shot by Navy's Liam Plum from tying the game. He proceeded to make two more saves in the first half, one in the 21^st minute and the other at the 24^'mark.
Clark prevented Williams' from scoring a goal in the 26^th minute, saving the ball from finding the bottom right pocket of the net.
In the 30^th minute, Sullivan had a shot blocked by a BU defender. In the following minute, Illig took a shot that went wide.
Di Blasio attempted his second goal of the afternoon with a shot that went wide in the 34^th minute.
Army's Gavin McBride took a shot off a corner kick in the 36^th minute, which went wide and to the right. Minutes later, McBride had another shot that went wide.
Illig took the final shot of the first half in the 43^rd minute, which was off target.
In the 53^rd minute, Di Blasio took BU's first shot of the second half, which was blocked by a defender.
Petrica aimed a shot for the bottom center of the net in the 56^th minute, which was saved by Clark.
At the 57' mark, Williams added onto his assist from the first half, finding the back of the net off a pass from Petrica to extend BU's lead to 2-0. Two minutes later, Petrica tried to extend the BU lead with a shot that got blocked by a defender.
Navy didn't take its first shot of the second half until the 81^st minute, when Braedy Strothkamp's shot was saved by Alexander. The following minute, Navy's Will Smith had a shot blocked before junior Louis Crofts attempted to add another point on for BU with a shot that was saved.
Smith took the final shot for either team in the 87^th minute, which was blocked. BU was then assessed a yellow card in the 88^th minute before it cruised to a 2-0 victory.

STATS

Navy outshot BU 14-9 overall, but the Terriers had a 5-3 advantage on shots in the second half.
Alexander made six saves, while Clark had four on the afternoon.
BU and Navy each took five corner kicks.
The Terriers and the Midshipmen each had one yellow card.

GAME NOTES

Alexander, along with sophomores Anthony Harper and Austin Mobray each totaled 90 minutes on the pitch. This marks Mobray's first career 90-minute performance and Harper's sixth consecutive game where he's played the full 90 minutes, while Alexander has seen every minute on the pitch this season.
This marks the first time since his freshman season that Di Blasio has scored goals in two consecutive games.
The Terriers are now 10-2-2 in all-time series against the Midshipmen, with a 3-2-1 record on the road.
With the win over Navy, the Terriers have their best start to Patriot League play since the 2023 season when they went 2-0 to open the conference schedule. Additionally, this marks BU's second win at the Glenn Warner Soccer Facility since 2015.
