Chase completed his second season as an assistant coach for the 2017-18 season.
Primarily working with wing guards, Chase helped guide the Terriers to a .404 field goal percentage, while BU posted its first .500 record in non-conference play since the 2012-13 season.
In his first season on staff, he assisted in guiding the Terriers to a 10-game turnaround, while Sophie Beaudry, Sarah Hope and Nia Irving earned All-Patriot League honors.
Chase returned to Boston University, where he received his Masters of Education with a concentration in Physical Education, Health and Coaching in 2011 and served as a graduate student manager for the BU men's basketball team, after spending the last five seasons at Houston Baptist University. He began his time at HBU as the Director of Basketball Operations for the men's team in 2011 before moving over to the women's team as an assistant coach in 2013.Â
While coaching the women's team at Houston Baptist, Chase was the top assistant and international recruiting coordinator, successfully bringing in student-athletes from Germany, Australia, Uzbekistan, Austria and Ireland. He was also responsible for the team's defensive strategy and developed scouting reports on opponent offenses.Â
Chase is no stranger to Boston, as he also completed his bachelor's degree in town at Emerson College, graduating Magna Cum Laude with a degree in marketing and video production while also playing all four years on the varsity men's basketball team.
While at Emerson, Chase was a three-year captain and led the team to a 24-5 record as a senior, where he led the team in scoring and was an Academic All-American in 2008.
