STORRS, Conn. - (Oct. 27) Kelly Cochrane scored the only goal Connecticut needed at 14:47 of the second half as the No. 2 Huskies downed the No. 14 Boston University Terriers, 3-0, in a non-conference field hockey game Wednesday afternoon in Storrs.
Cochrane's goals was assisted by Nicole Castonguay.
The Huskies added two more goals, Amy Herz from Cochrane at 11:24, and Kathyrn Tabor at 3:29.
The Terriers managed just four shots on Connecticut goalie Danielle Vile.
The Terriers fall to 15-4, while Connecticut improves to 18-0 this season.
Vile had three saves, while B.U. goalie, senior Noreen Flanagan (Red Bank, NJ) stopped four Huskey shots in the first half and sophomore Susan Harrington (Tuftonboro, NH) recorded one save in the second half.
The Huskies outshot the Terriers, 14-4 and held the advantage in penalty corner situations,11-5 .
B.U.is now 6-13 all-time versus Connecticut.
Sally Starr's team hosts No. 5 Wake Forest University in the regular season finale on Saturday, October 30 at 6 p.m.
GAME NOTES: B.U. has lost back-to-back games for the first time in 22 games...The Terriers host the 1999 America East Field Hockey Championship starting Friday, November 5.
