No. 13 Field Hockey Defeats Drexel, 3-2

BOSTON, Mass. - (Oct. 8) Sophomore back Rachael Stillings (Escondido, CA) scored two second-half goals to lead No. 13 Boston University to a 3-2 win over Drexel in an America East conference field hockey game at Nickerson Field Friday night.
Boston University's Robyn Kenney (Whitehouse Station, NJ) staked the Terriers to an early 1-0 lead with her unassisted goal at 32:22. The lead would be short lived as Drexel's Kelly O'Donnell (Blue Bell, PA) tied the game with her goal at 24:25.
The Dragons went ahead, 2-1, when Pamie Zukowski (Creamridge, NJ) tallied her team-leading fifth goal of the season at 14:05 from Adrienne Richards (Jenkintown, PA) and Sandra Soslau (Feasterville, PA).
Drexel led 2-1 at intermission.
At 33:34 of the second half, Stillings tied the game at, 2-2, with her second goal of the season from sophomore Kerry Carney (Yorktown Heights, NY) and senior Jaclyn Mele (Fairfield, NJ).
The same trio collaborated on the game-winning goal at 19:42.
Boston University's senior co-captain Samantha Stuart(Bridgton, ME) made a key defensive save with about :30 seconds to play in regulation off a shot from Drexel's Kelly O'Donnell.
The Terriers improve to 10-2, 5-0, while Drexel falls to 5-7, 1-2 this season.
Drexel goalie Heather Haigh had 9 saves, while B.U. goalies, senior Noreen Flanagan (Red Bank, NJ) and sophomore Susan Harrington (Tuftonboro, NH), had one and four saves respectively.
The Terriers outshot the Dragons,14-7, and held the advantage in penalty corner situations, 18-7.
B.U. improves to 9-0 all-time versus Drexel.
The Terriers return to the field on Sunday, October 10 to play Hofstra in an America East conference game at Boston University's Nickerson Field at 1 p.m.
GAME NOTES: Tonight's game was B.U. head coach Sally Starr's 400th game on the sidelines. Starr joins Connecticut's Nancy Stevens and Old Dominion's Beth Anders as the only Division I head coaches to have coached 400 or more games... B.U has outshot opponents 248-108 this season and are 7-0 when leading at the half.
