Kenney, Rogers, Carney Named Regional All-Americans

BOSTON, MA (November 13) - A trio of Boston University field hockey players have been named to the 2000 AstroTurf/NFHCA Division I Northeast Regional All-America team it was announced Monday.
Senior midfielder Robyn Kenney (Whitehouse Station, NJ/Hunterdon Central), and junior forward Jane Rogers (Watertown, MA/Watertown) were each named to the first team, while junior midfielder/back Kerry Carney (Yorktown Heights, NY/Lakeland) was named to the second team. The 13th-ranked Terriers just completed their 2000 season with a 16-8 record and second-straight NCAA Tournament berth with a 2-1 loss to UMass in Chapel Hill, NC on November 11.
It is the third straight year Kenney has been named First Team All-Region. One of the team's co-captains this past season, she enjoyed career highs in all offensive categories, as she had 6-5-17 in 24 games. Kenney finished her career at B.U. starting 84-of-85 games and posted career totals of 9-10-28 as one of the top defenders in the nation. Kenney, a two-time member of the U.S. Under-21 National Team, was also a Third Team All-American in 1999.
Rogers led the team in scoring with 8-12-28 in 24 games in 2000 and was seventh in the America East. She was named a Second Team All-American last year. The Watertown, MA native is currently in 11th place on the Terrier all-time scoring list with 62 points in 46 career games.
It is the first regional honor for Carney, who was a major force in the midfield for the Terriers this season. Carney posted 0-4-4, starting all 24 games for the Terriers. She was also named an America East First Team All-Conference selection in 2000. In 61 career games, Carney has three goals and 12 assists for 18 points.
