Senior midfielder Robyn Kenney (Whitehouse Station, NJ) and junior forward Jane Rogers (Watertown, MA) have recently been named 2000 AstroTurf/NFHCA Division I All-Americans for their achievements this past season. Kenney has been named to the second team, while Rogers was selected to the third team. Both players were named to the Northeast Regional team on November 13.
It is the second year Kenney has been honored with an All-American selection. In 1999, she was a third team selection. One of the team's co-captains this past season, Kenney enjoyed career highs in all offensive categories, scoring six goals and five assists for 17 points in 24 games. She finished her B.U. career starting 84-of-85 games and posted career totals of 9-10-28 as one of the top defenders in the nation. Kenney was a two-time member of the U.S. Under-21 National Team in 1998 and 1999.
Rogers led the Terriers in scoring with 8-12-28 in 24 games in 2000 and finished fourth in scoring in the America East Conference. She was a Second Team All-American team selection in 1999. Rogers is currently in 11th place on the Terriers all-time scoring list with 62 points in 46 career games.
The Terriers completed the 2000 season with an 16-8 record, an America East Championship and their second-straight NCAA Tournament berth. B.U. lost to Umass, 2-1 in the first round of the NCAA's on November 5.
