Kristin Abruzzese Named America East Player of the Week

BOSTON, MA (April 30) - Boston University sophomore midfielder Kristin Abruzzese (Medford, NJ) has been named America East Player of the Week for the week ending April 30.
The honor is the third for Abruzzese this season. She had been named America East Defender of the Week for the weeks ending March 22 and March 28.
Abruzzese scored a career-high five goals and registered a career-best six points in B.U.'s 12-11 come-from-behind win over Hofstra on April 30. The win assured B.U. of its first undefeated regular-season in program history, and a No. 1 seed in the 2000 America East Championships beginning Wednesday, May 3 at 3:30 p.m. versus No. 4 seed New Hampshire (7-9, 3-3).
In 16 games this season Abruzzese has 25 goals and 6 assists for 31 points. Her 25 goals ranks second on the team, and her 31 points is good for third on the team. She has a team-leading 46 groundballs, and is third on the team with 24 caused turnovers.
The Terriers (13-3, 6-0 America East), who remained ranked 10th in this week's Brine/IWLCA Division I Women's Lacrosse Poll, play No. 4 seed New Hampshire on Wednesday, May 3 at 3:30 p.m. in the 2000 America East Women's Lacrosse semifinals.
