August 17, 2000 | Women's Lacrosse
Ellen Robinson (Berwyn, PA/Conestoga), a defenseman on Boston University's women's lacrosse team, has recently been named an Intercollegiate Women's Lacrosse Coaches Association Division I Academic All-American.
Robinson, a Business Administration and Management major in the College of Arts and Science, is a three-year starter on the Terrier lacrosse team. She completed her junior year in May.
In 53 career games, Robinson has registered 98 ground balls for the Terriers, who enjoyed their finest season in 2000, posting a school-record 15-4 mark and earning their first-ever NCAA Tournament berth. BU captured the America East Championship with a perfect 6-0 record in the conference.
"Ellen has played a significant role for us these past 3 years helping to lead us into the NCAAs and our first-ever America East Conference Championship. I rely on her to mark-down opponents' top scorers, transition the ball through the midfield and provide a leadership role on defense. Ellen is an outstanding leader, both on and off the field, and I look forward to having her as a captain this year anticipating she will give me and this program 110% her senior year," states Coach Sue Murphy.
