Terriers Rebound With 1-0 Win At #20 Dartmouth

Hanover, N.H. - Sophomore midfielder Dalinda Banuelos (Escondido, CA) scored the game-winning goal midway through the first half, providing Boston University with all the offense it needed in a 1-0 non-conference victory on Tuesday (Oct. 9) afternoon at 20th-ranked Dartmouth.

Banuelos' unassisted goal - her second of the season - gave B. U. the lead for good at 17:37, and junior goalkeeper Susan Harrington (Tuftonboro, N. H.) did the rest, stopping all 17 shots taken by Dartmouth to record her second shutout of the season and eighth of her career.
Dartmouth (6-4),which entered the NFHCA Top 20 just one day earlier, took 11 shots in the second half in an effort to tie the game, but could not score on the Terriers' defense.
B. U. took 12 shots and had four penalty corner chances. The Big Green had 10 corners. Sophomore forward Whitney Peabody led the Terriers with four shots. Banuelos had three. Rebekka Stucker and Lisa Thomas led Dartmouth with three shots each.
Dartmouth goalkeeper Kirsten Jefferson made five saves in defeat.
Boston University (5-6, 4-2) gears up for an important conference home stand this weekend. The Terriers, who entered the day in fourth place in the America East Conference, host Hofstra on Friday, Oct. 12 at Harvard's Jordan Field. Game time is 7:30 p.m. On Sunday, B. U. faces Drexel in a 1 p.m. game, also at Jordan Field.
