BOSTON- Senior Felicia Cappabianca (North Caldwell, NJ) and juniors Jane Rogers (Watertown, MA) and Casey Holman (Bridgeton, NJ) were named Northeast Regional All-Americans by the National Field Hockey Coaches Association yesterday (November 12th).
Rogers, who led the Terriers in scoring for the third consecutive season, was named to the Regional All-American First Team for the second straight year. Rogers scored nine goals and added three assists for 21 points this season. In the Terrier record book, her 31 career goals rank fifth on the all-time list, while her 83 career points are tied for eighth.
Last season, Rogers was a Third Team National All-America selection and has been an America East All-Conference selection during each of her three seasons. As a freshman in 1999, she was named to the Regional All-America Second Team.
Cappabianca and Holman were named to the Regional Second Team, marking the first All-America honors of their careers.
The lone Terrier senior this season, Cappabianca set a school record for games played in 2001. During her four-year tenure, Cappabianca appeared in 85 games, scoring 22 goals and assisting on 7 for 51 career points while playing the midfield. This season, the tri-captain had the team's second-highest point total with seven goals and four assists for career-high 18 points.
Holman had three goals and two assists for eight points while leading the Terriers' defense. This is the second honor for Holman during the post-season, as the tri-captain was named to the America East All-Tournament Team following her performance in the Terriers' 2-1 loss to Delaware in the semifinals.
