May 2, 2001 | Field Hockey
Boston - Boston University field hockey head coach Sally Starr announced today that seniors Felicia Cappabianca (North Caldwell, N. J.), Susan Harrington (Tuftonboro, N. H.) and Casey Holman (Bridgeton, N. J.) have been named tri-captains for the 2001 field hockey season.
Cappabianca earned 2000 America East second team All-Conference honors, after starting all 24 of B. U.'s games and tallying four goals and two assists. She registered the game-winning goal and one assist in a 2-1 conference win over Drexel.
Also a second-team America East All-Conference selection, Harrington played every minute of every game for the 16-8 Terriers last season. She finished second in the league and 20th in the country with a 1.50 goals against average, and posted three shutouts during the 2000 season.
Holman entered the 2001 season as the Terriers' third-leading scorer with five goals and three assists for 13 points. She started all 24 games last season, and scored a team-high three game-winning goals.
Boston University returns the majority of the 2000 team that finished first in the America East with a 16-8 record, and won its second consecutive conference tournament championship. Last year's team was the first field hockey squad to make two-straight NCAA tournament appearances.
