Terriers Look Impressive In Winning Spring Debut

The Terrier women's tennis team put on an impressive show on Monday (March 4th) as it defeated James Madison University, 6-1, to open its annual spring break trip to Florida.
B.U. won five of the six singles matches in straight sets and also won two of the three doubles matches to come away with the point. The doubles competition opened the match and the Terriers won at both one and two.
Senior Christina Causway (Wilson, NC) and sophomore Hannah Bartell (Rancho Santa Fe, CA) combined to win their number one doubles match, 8-2. Sophomore Lindsey Dynof (Colts Neck, NJ) and freshman Silvia Guglielmi (Rome, Italy) won their number two doubles match, 8-4. The only loss in doubles play came at number three where junior Alana Marcu (Leonia, NJ) and sophomore Elena deMendoza (Madrid, Spain) dropped an 8-3 decision.
In singles play, Causway showed why she is the team's number one singles player as she enjoyed a 6-1, 6-2 win. Dynof won at number two, 6-2, 7-5, while deMendoza provided the Terriers with their 1-2-3 sweep with a 7-5, 7-6 win.
Marcu was victorious at number five, 7-5, 6-3, while sophomore Elisa Glas (Irun, Spain) took the point at number six with a 6-0, 6-1 win.
The only loss in singles came at number four where Guglielmi lost a hard-fought first set, 7-6, before losing the second set, 6-0.
