Vestal, NY - The Boston University women's lacrosse team (5-9, 2-1) had 16 different players contribute goals en route to a 20-0 win over Binghamton in an America East conference game on Sunday (April 21) in Vestal, NY.
Sophomore attacker Kelly Trahon (Needham, MA) paced the Terriers, scoring a goal and setting a program record with seven assists. Teammate Alyssa Trudel (Middlebury, VT) had set the previous program record earlier this season with six assists against Albany.
The shutout was the first for B.U. since an 18-0 win over Vermont on April 1, 2000.
The Terriers scored nine goals in the first nine minutes of play and held a 14-0 advantage at halftime. Senior midfielder Kristin Abruzzese (Medford, NJ), junior midfielder Briana Smith (Huntington, NY), and senior attackers Ericka Hergenroeder (Annapolis, MD) and Katie Nordhoff (Ellicott City, MD) each scored twice during the first half.
Hergenroeder's two goals were the 100th and 101st of her career. She becomes the sixth Terrier in program history to reach the 100-goal milestone.
