Women Netters Win By Default Over Temple
April 6, 2002 | Women's Tennis
The Temple women's tennis team, unable to field a full team because of injuries, has been forced to forfeit its scheduled match against the Terriers. The two teams were slated to meet each other on Saturday (April 6th) on the Terriers' home court. Hence, B.U. has a win by forfeit.
The victory improves the Terriers' spring record to 4-7. Three of B.U.'s losses have come by just one point, as the Terriers have lost to Florida Atlantic, Brown, and Dartmouth by the slimmest of margins. However, the Terriers do have one win by a 4-3 margin and that was over Cincinnati.
B.U. expects to play UMass on Sunday (April 7) at noon. It will be just the second home match of the spring for the Terriers. On February 16th, the Terriers defeated Syracuse, 6-1, at the Sportsman's Tennis Club in Dorchester. Since then, they have played seven straight road matches.
