Field Hockey Falls At No. 16 Harvard

BOSTON - No. 16 Harvard got two goals from Kate McDavitt and a goal and an assist from Mina Pell in a 4-0 shutout victory over Boston University in a non-conference field hockey matchup at the Crimson's Jordan Field on Wednesday, Oct. 29.
McDavitt put Harvard on the board with the game-winner at 14:51. Pell inserted the ball to McDavitt on the left side on a penalty corner. McDavitt dribbled in and slammed a shot past B. U. redshirt freshman goalkeeper Erin Prediger (Telford, Pa) for a 1-0 lead.
Pell added a goal of her own 1:10 before the half to give the Crimson a 2-0 halftime advantage. She one-timed a rebound off a McDavitt shot for her fifth goal of the season.
Harvard would add two second-half goals by McDavitt and Shelley Maasdorp.
Crimson goalkeeper Katie Zacarian made three saves to record her 24th career shutout, extending her team record. Prediger made four saves and allowed two goals in the first half. B. U. junior Jodie Gardner (Farmington, Conn.) played the second half in the Terrier cage, stopping four shots and giving up two scores.
B. U. (8-10, 2-3 America East) will play its final regular-season game when it travels to Baltimore, Md. on Saturday, Nov. 1 to face UMBC in a 1 p.m. game.
