Hubbard, Banuelos, Domers Named To STX/NFHCA All-Region Team

BOSTON - Three Boston University senior field hockey players earned 2003 STX/NFHCA Division I All-Northeast Region honors on Monday, Nov. 17. Forward Celeste Hubbard (Detroit, Mich.) was named to the All-Region First Team, while forwards Dalinda Banuelos (Escondido, Calif.) and Lindsey Domers (Voorhees, N. J.) earned Second Team honors.
It is the 19th straight year that B. U. has had a representative on the Northeast Region All-Region First Team.
It is the second All-Region honor for Hubbard, who earned a Second Team honor last season as a junior, when she led the team in scoring. For Banuelos, it is her second straight season earning Second Team honors.
This season, Hubbard led the Terriers in every offensive category. She led the team in goals (13), assists (10), points (36), and shots (74), and was tied for the team lead in game-winning goals with two. She tallied three hat tricks during the season, scoring three goals and one assist twice while posting one three-goal, two-assist game.
Domers also had a career year for the Terriers. She had career highs in goals (10), assists (six), and points (26). Along with Hubbard, she finished the regular season with a three-goal, two-assist offensive outburst in a 9-2 win at UMBC on Nov. 1. She joined Hubbard by leading the team with two game-winning goals this season.
Banuelos was a solid performer in 2003, starting all 20 games and finishing third on the team in scoring with five goals and two assists for 12 points.
Both Hubbard and Domers were honored by America East as First Team All-Conference selections in 2003.
This season, Boston University finished fourth in the America East Conference with a 9-11 record.
