BOSTON - Junior midfielder Kylie Wagenet (Ithaca, NY) was named to the IWLCA National Academic Honor Roll, as announced by the organization on June 17. The honor roll recognizes players who achieve excellence both on the field and in the classroom.
Wagenet, a College of Arts and Sciences student who is majoring in Political Science, enters her senior year with a 3.47 cumulative grade point average. A two-time America East Academic Honor Roll selection, Wagenet is the fourth Terrier in program history to be named to the national honor roll. She follows Brooke Barrett ('01, '02), Molly Byrne ('02), and Ellen Robinson ('00, '01).
On the field, Wagenet enjoyed a breakout season and was named the team's Most Improved Player at the annual post-season banquet. After making 11 appearances in her first two seasons with the team, Wagenet appeared in all 19 games in 2003, earning 16 starts. Fourth on the team in scoring, Wagenet contributed 27 goals and eight assists for the America East Champions.
In 2003, Boston University (14-5) won its third conference title in four years and made its second trip to the NCAA Championship. The Terriers return nine starters and 21 letterwinners for the 2004 season.
