B.U. Falls At UConn, 12-8

Storrs, CT - Tracey Mullaney tallied a game-high five points to lead the University of Connecticut to a 12-8 win over Boston University at Morrone Stadium on Wednesday, April 21.
Mullaney scored three goals and had two assists as UConn improved to 7-8 on the season. Sophomore midfielders Lindsay Lewis (Glenelg, MD) and Kaitlyn Cuneo (Marlton, NJ) each scored two goals for the Terriers, who fall to 5-8.
Mullaney scored a pair of goals in the first half as the Huskies took a 4-2 lead at halftime.
Kariane Lauri paced the Husky attack in the second half, scoring all of her game-high four goals after the break.
Shannon Burke and Jacqui Hamilton each scored two goals and Tammy Michel added a single-goal effort for the Huskies.
With her two scores, Lewis extended her program-record goal-scoring streak to 28 games and raised her season total to a team-high 31 goals. Cuneo enjoyed her fourth-straight multiple-point effort with her two goals.
Sophomore attacker Mary Beth Miller (Berlin, NJ) and freshman attacker Angie Martin (Catonsville, MD) each had a goal and an assist while junior attacker Kelly Trahon (Needham, MA) and freshman defender Noelle Hopper (Ellicott City, MD) had single-goal efforts.
Jennifer Wong recorded the win with 14 saves in the game, including 10 in the second half.
Terrier junior goalkeeper Anne Sheridan (Baltimore, MD) made a game-high 16 saves in the losing effort.
B.U. plays its final regular-season home game when it hosts conference-rival Stony Brook on Saturday, April 24, at 7:00 p.m. Prior the start of the game, the Terriers will celebrate "Senior Day" by honoring the Class of 2004.
