GAME ONE - Boston University 2, Stony Brook 1
B.U. got on the board early with an unearned run in the first inning and took a 2-0 lead in the top of the sixth on a solo home run by freshman second baseman Chiya Louie (Seattle, Wash.).
Stony Brook's Hayley Durham cut the lead in half in the bottom of the seventh with a solo home run, but Freeman worked out of a jam with runners on first and second to end the ballgame.
GAME TWO - Stony Brook 4, Boston University 2
B.U. took a 2-0 lead on an RBI single by sophomore designated player Erin McDonald (Macon, Ill.) in the fourth.
SB's McCarthy turned the tables when she cracked a grand slam over the left field wall in the bottom of the fourth to erase the 2-0 Terrier lead and give the Seawolves a 4-2 advantage.
Seawolves' pitcher Sarah Hoffman (6-8) made the runs stand up as she allowed just one hit the rest of the way to pick up the win.
Freshman Brittany Detwiler (Souderton, Pa.) suffered her first loss of the season to drop to 5-9 for the Terriers. McDonald led B.U. at the plate, going 2-for-3 with an RBI.
Stony Brook and B.U. will play the rubber game of the series tomorrow (Sunday, April, 25) at noon at University Field.
