B.U. Falls To Harvard In Double Overtime, 11-10

BOSTON - Catherine Sproul scored off a free position with one second remaining in the first half of overtime as Harvard hung on for an 11-10 win over Boston University at Jordan Field on Wednesday, April 7.
Harvard took a 7-4 lead into halftime but the Terriers out-scored the Crimson, 5-2, in the second half.
Junior midfielder Alyssa Trudel (Shoreham, VT) netted her third goal of the game with 1:39 left in regulation to send the contest into overtime.
The Crimson's Elaine Belitsos scored first in overtime, converting a free position shot at 2:11. But sophomore midfielder Lindsay Lewis (Glenelg, MD) netted the equalizer, scoring off a free position with 1:58 left in the first overtime. Sproul tallied the game-winner with 1.1 seconds remaining in the first overtime.
In the second overtime, the two teams were held scoreless as Harvard goalkeeper Kathryn Tylander made two of her 13 saves in the second extra session. Junior goalkeeper Anne Sheridan (Baltimore, MD) had one of her game-high 15 saves in the second overtime period.
Sproul and Jen Brooks each had two goals and an assist to lead the Crimson.
Trudel finished with a game-high four points off three goals and an assist while Lewis also scored three goals. Sophomore Mary Beth Miller (Berlin, NJ) had a pair of goals while junior attacker Kelly Trahon (Needham, MA) and freshman defender Noelle Hopper (Ellicott City, MD) each scored during the Terriers' second half rally. Freshman attacker Angie Martin (Catonsville, MD) had a game-high two assists.
B.U. won 14-of-24 draws, including 3-of-4 during the overtime sessions. But, Harvard controlled 40 ground balls, compared to 31 for the Terriers.
The Terriers travel to Baltimore to take on conference-newcomer UMBC (2-7, 1-0) on Saturday, April 10, at 12:00 p.m.
