BOSTON - After leading the Terriers to a pair of conference wins, sophomore attacker Lindsay Lewis (Glenelg, MD) was named America East Player of the Week on May 3.
Lewis totaled seven goals and three assists on the attack and collected 14 ground balls and five draw controls in the midfield. With her 10-point effort last week, Lewis raised her team-leading totals to 43 goals, 15 assists, and 58 points.
In B.U.'s 11-6 win over Albany on April 30, Lewis had two goals, two assists, two draw controls, and two ground balls.
In the Terriers' 18-8 win over Binghamton on May 2, Lewis showed her versatility, scoring four goals while grabbing a game- and career-high nine ground balls.
Lewis also had a goal and an assist against 10th-ranked Dartmouth on April 28.
With her goals scored in each of the three games, Lewis extended her program-record goal-scoring streak to 32 games.
The two-time defending conference champion Terriers (8-9, 5-1) enter the 2004 America East Championship as the number two seed. B.U. takes on third-seeded UMBC in the semifinals at the University of New Hampshire on Thursday, May 6, at 3:30 p.m. A win would send the Terriers to their sixth-straight league championship game. B.U. would play the victor of the other semifinal game between top-seeded New Hampshire and fourth-seeded Albany.
