Women's Tennis Blanks New Hampshire In Rescheduled Match

BOSTON, MA-The Terrier women's tennis team blanked visitiing University of New Hampshire, 7-0, on Tuesday, Feb. 16, in a match that had been originally scheduled for Jan. 22 but was postponed due to the snowstorm.
It was the third straight victory for the Terriers who are 3-2 during their spring season.
The Wildcats brought just four players with them. As a result, B.U. won three matches by default-the number three doubles and four and five singles.
The Terriers sewed up the point in doubles by winning the numbers one and two matches. At number one, Monica Shepherd and Gina Sabatino blanked Megan Breen and Jessica Porter, 8-0, while, at number two, Aimee Charest and Katarina Draganova lost just one game to Tiffany Heineman and Amy Surprenant, 8-1.
In singles, Laura Ahmes eliminated Breen, 6-1, 6-1, and Sabatino defeated Porter, 6-1, 6-0 at number two. Neither Charest nor Cheri Lapane lost a game in winning their matches at numbers three and four, respectively, 6-0, 6-0. Charest beat Heineman, while Lapane got by Surprenant. The Terriers return to action on Sunday, Feb. 20, when they host Princeton at 11:00 a.m.
