Women's Tennis Defeats Quinnipiac, 6-1

BOSTON - Boston University defeated Quinnipiac, 6-1, in women's tennis action on Saturday, April 16.
The Terriers swept all three doubles matches to earn the doubles point.
Junior Laura Ahmes (Sarasota, Fla.) defeated Gabby Pasternak, 6-2, 6-4, at No. 1 singles. Freshman Gina Sabatini (Waltham, Mass.) downed Tina Hoang, 6-1, 6-1, at No. 2 to increase B.U.'s lead to 3-0.
Freshman Katie Draganova (Coral Springs, Fla.) secured the win for the Terriers with a 6-1, 6-0 win over Amanda Petruzzi at No. 3 singles.
The Bobcats' Liz Axler earned the only point for Quinnipiac when she earned a 6-3, 6-1 decision at No. 4 singles.
B.U. won the final two singles matches as junior Monica Shepherd (Austin, Texas) and junior Cheri Lapane (Reading, Mass.) won at No. 5 and No. 6 singles, respectively.
B.U. hosts Syracuse on Sunday, April 17 at 11 a.m.
