BOSTON - After leading Boston University in goal scoring in two wins last week, freshman attacker Jenny Hauser (Alexandria, VA) was named America East Rookie of the Week on Monday, April 25.
It marks the fifth time this season that Hauser has been honored by the conference's office. She was also named Rookie of the Week on March 14, March 21, April 11, and April 18.
Hauser netted a game-high four goals in B.U.'s 14-3 victory over Vermont on April 20. She followed that performance with a six-goal, one-assist effort in B.U.'s 17-8 win over Stony Brook on April 23. She also had three draw controls, three caused turnovers, and three ground balls in the two conference wins.
On the season, Hauser leads America East in goals (44) while ranking third in points (54). She also ranks third on the team in ground balls (25), fourth in draw controls (18), and sixth in caused turnovers (10). She has registered at least one point in all 14 games this season and has had multiple-goal efforts in 10 of the 14 games.
The Terriers (13-1, 5-0) wrap up their regular-season with two pivotal games this week. B.U. hosts undefeated Dartmouth (13-0, 7-0) on Wednesday, April 28, at 6:00 p.m. before playing at conference rival New Hampshire on Sunday, May 1, at 1:00 p.m. B.U. will be aiming for its first-ever win over the Big Green, who recently defeated Princeton en route to the Ivy League crown. The winner of the B.U.-New Hampshire game will earn the regular-season conference title and the right to host the 2005 America East Championship on May 5-7.
