Four Terriers Receive All-American Honors

BOSTON - Seniors Anne Sheridan (Baltimore, MD) and Alyssa Trudel (Shoreham, VT) headlined a group of four Terriers who received All-American honors from the IWLCA and Inside Lacrosse Magazine as announced on May 22.
Sheridan and Trudel became the first players in B.U. program history to earn First Team All-American honors from the IWLCA. Junior midfielder Lindsay Lewis (Glenelg, MD) was named to the IWLCA All-American Third Team, while freshman attacker Jenny Hauser (Alexandria, VA) received First Team honors from Inside Lacrosse Magazine.
Sheridan enjoyed the finest season of her career in 2005, ranking first in the nation in save percentage (.573) and fourth in goals against average (7.15). She finished her career second in B.U. history in both saves (486) and goals against average (7.79). In addition to her IWLCA honors, Sheridan was also named to the Inside Lacrosse All-America First Team and was selected as the America East Player of the Year.
A two-time team captain, Trudel served as the Terriers' field general in each of the last four seasons. In 2005, she led B.U. in draw controls (46), ground balls (42), and caused turnovers (34) while ranking third on the team in scoring with 43 goals and 20 assists. A talented playmaker, Trudel is the program's all-time leader in assists (95), ranks second in points (238), and third in goals (143). Trudel was also named to the Inside Lacrosse All-America Second Team and was the 2005 America East Tournament's Most Outstanding Player.
A three-time All-Region honoree, Lewis received the first national recognition of her career following a standout junior campaign. After missing the first two games of the season with a hip injury, Lewis bounced back to have 11 multiple-goal games and finished fourth on the team in scoring with 43 goals and 10 assists.
A contender for national Rookie of the Year honors, Hauser made an immediate impact in the Terrier lineup in her freshman season. She became the first Terrier freshman to lead the team in scoring in seven years, totaling 54 goals and 16 assists for 70 points. A six-time America East Rookie of the Week, Hauser was named America East Rookie of the Year and was a First Team All-Region and All-Conference selection.
The Terriers (18-2, 6-0) will return nine starters and 19 letterwinners for the 2006 season.
