Terriers To Take On Tennessee In NCAA First Round

BOSTON - The Boston University women's tennis team will face the 16th-seeded University of Tennessee in the opening round of the 2005 NCAA Tennis Championship, it was announced Wednesday, May 4. The Terriers will stay close to home, facing the Lady Vols at regional host Harvard University on Friday, May 13. The match is scheduled to get underway at 11:00 a.m.
It is the seventh straight trip to the NCAA's for the Terriers (11-9), who captured the 2005 America East Championship, their 12th in a row, with a 4-1 win over Binghamton on Sunday, May 1. The Lady Volunteers (14-8) lost to Georgia, 4-1, in the quarterfinals of the SEC Tournament on April 22.
In the other Harvard site matchup, 19th-ranked Crimson (17-6) will play Maryland (11-11) at 2:00 p.m. The two winners will meet on Saturday at 11:00 a.m. with the victorious team advancing to the University of Georgia for all remaining rounds of the tournament. The Sweet 16 will begin on Thursday, May 19.
