Lacrosse Draws Penn in NCAA First Round
May 7, 2007 | Women's Lacrosse
BOSTON - Fresh off its third straight America East title, the Boston University women's lacrosse team (13-5) will travel to Philadelphia to face fourth-seeded Penn (14-1) in the first round of the NCAA tournament on Sunday, May 13. Game time is set for noon.
The Terriers, who will be making their fifth NCAA appearance, have never faced the Quakers. Penn reached the NCAA tournament via the Ivy League's automatic bid after posting a perfect 7-0 record in conference play.
Due to Penn's graduation at Franklin Field, Sunday's game will be played at Rhodes Field, which has a grass surface and serves as the home to the Quakers' soccer teams. Directions to the field can be found here, while ticket information can be accessed here.
BU and Penn boast two of the nation's longest current winning streaks, as the Quakers have won 11 straight and the Terriers enter the tournament having won their last nine contests. Only top-ranked Northwestern (17) and LeMoyne (13) have longer current streaks.
