CAMBRIDGE, Mass. - After scoring both goals in Boston University's 2-0 upset of No. 6 Connecticut in field hockey, senior Sheena Berry (Edinburgh, Scotland) has been named America East Player of the Week, as announced by the conference office on Monday.
Berry scored in the eighth and 14th minutes for her third and fourth goals of the season. That's all the Terrier defense would need, as UConn was shut out for the first time in over two years.
The first goal came off a restart on the right side as Berry took a pass from freshman Kiley Allosso and ripped a shot inside the right post from the top of the circle at 7:24. She completed her standout effort on a corner less than six minutes later, converting once again from the top of the circle at 13:05.
Berry ranks second on the Terriers in points this season with 11 on four goals and three assists. She is the third BU player to earn the league's top weekly honor, joining sophomore goalkeeper Kim Kastuk and junior forward Nikki Lloyd.
