The Boston University field hockey team (8-9) will close out its home schedule on Wednesday (Oct. 29) when it plays host to Harvard (6-8). Game time is set for 3 p.m. Seniors Lizzie Perreault, Hayly Ross and Holly Wiles will be honored prior to their final contest at Jack Barry Field.
The Terriers will be in search of their sixth non-conference victory of the season, having already defeated two top-10 squads (UConn, Virginia) in addition to Northwestern, Delaware and Central Michigan.
BU is coming off a week in which it upset then-No. 6 UConn, 2-0, before dropping a 1-0 America East contest on the road against Albany on Saturday.
The Crimson has dropped its last three contests, including a 5-0 decison at Princeton in its most recent outing on Saturday. The skid came on the heels of a four-game win streak that included triumphs over Vermont, Brown, Northeastern and Saint Louis. Harvard also has posted wins over Holy Cross and Yale this season.
Harvard is paced by sophomore Leigh McCoy, who leads the team in points (14) and goals (6). Senior Tami Jafar is close behind with 11 points on the strength of five goals. In goal, senior Kylie Stone has started every game and currently has a 2.14 goals against average and a .732 save percentage.
Junior Nikki Lloyd continues to lead BU in scoring with 13 points on six goals and an assist. Reigning America East Player of the Week Sheena Berry is right behind with 11 points (4g, 3a) while freshman Giovanna Monaco (4g) and junior Gabby Hajjar (2g, 4a) have registered eight points apiece.
This will be the 30th meeting between the cross-town rivals, and BU holds a 16-12-1 advantage in the series.
