The Boston University lacrosse team is hosting a dodgeball tournament in January to help raise money for the team's upcoming trip to Australia in June. The tourney is open to all and will be held on Sunday, Jan. 18, at the Track and Tennis Center.
The event is open to anyone over the age of 18, whether students, faculty or staff at Boston University or neighboring universities, professionals in the area or anyone interested in playing some competitive dodgeball.
Teams of 10 must register by Thursday, Dec. 11, with registration forms available at the event website. The cost is $10 per person or $100 for a team of 10 with all proceeds benefitting the Terriers' 2009 Australian tour. E-mail assistant coach Katie Linnertz at linnertz@bu.edu with any questions.
Each game in the tournament will be 8 vs. 8 and there is no co-ed requirement for teams. The tourney will begin with round-robin play with the top team in each round-robin group advancing to a single-elimination championship round. Prizes will be awarded to the top three teams as well as the team with the best uniforms.
