BOSTON - The Boston University Women's Lacrosse team hosted its Second Annual Dodgeball tournament on Sunday, Nov. 22 at the Boston University Track & Tennis Center. The tournament, which featured 21 teams from inside and outside the Boston University community, helped to raise $2,605 for the Susan G. Komen foundation for breast cancer research.
The first place prize went to the Dizzy Llamas from South Boston after an intense three-game championship battle against BU's own Buildings & Grounds Crew. Third place went to team Trash BINNS, a BU student group, while members of BU's COMinators team rounded out the top four finishers.
The award for best team uniform went to the American Gladiators, a squad made up of BU Lacrosse and Ice Hockey alumni. Other teams highlighted for their play and spirit throughout the day were the Cheerios (BU cheerleaders), BU dance, Duranimals (BU track and field), The Savages (BU soccer), BUFHA (BU field hockey), Cruise America (BU sailing team) and Team RFC (BU rugby).
The competition was tough, the team uniforms were clever, and everyone had a great time competing and raising funds for breast cancer research.
