The Boston University field hockey team was well represented on the 2010 Longstreth/NFHCA Division I All-Region Teams, as senior Allie Dolce and sophomores Jacinda McLeod and Nicole van Oosterom were all named to the Northeast Region First Team, as announced on Thursday.
Dolce and McLeod were both earned their first regional honor last season by being named to the second team. This is van Oosterom's first all-region recognition. All three are now eligible for All-America accolades.
Dolce, who will participate in Saturday's NFHCA Division I Senior Game, is also a two-time all-conference honoree. She registered 12 points (3g, 6a) this year as a senior striker after being named the 2009 America East Midfielder of the Year.
This year's America East Defensive Player of the Year, McLeod headlined a defense that allowed just 23 goals in 18 games while ranking second on the team in both points (16) and goals (6).
van Oosterom built off a strong rookie year by contributing 14 points on five goals and four assists en route to being named the America East Midfielder of the Year.
The Terriers got off to the best start in program history, winning its first five games, capped by a 2-0 win over then-No. 7 Boston College. The strong start kept BU in the national rankings all season long, peaking at No. 11 and finishing the year ranked No. 20.
