
Downey, Rogers named to IWLCA Academic Honor Roll

GRAND LAKE, Colo. - Rising seniors Corcoran Downey and Mandy Rogers of the Boston University lacrosse team were named to the Intercollegiate Women’s Lacrosse Coaches Association Academic Honor Roll, the organization announced.
In all, 151 student-athletes from 62 institutions were honored with the distinction. Coaches nominated student-athletes who achieved at least junior status academically and a GPA of 3.5 or higher. If a program did not have a student-athlete with at least a 3.5 GPA, up to two student-athletes with a GPA of 3.2 or higher were eligible for nomination.
Downey, who achieved a 3.73 GPA, is enrolled in the University’s Sargent College of Health and Rehabilitation Service. She started in all 20 games for the Terriers in 2010 and was an America East All-Conference First Team and All-Academic selection. The Ellicott City, Md., native also registered a team-leading 27 caused turnovers and ranked fourth on the squad with 35 ground balls.
Enrolled in the University’s School of Management, Rogers appeared in all 20 games in 2010 while maintaining a 3.77 GPA. The Nashua, N.H., native made 11 starts for the Terriers and reached double-digit totals in draw controls (23), ground balls (22) and caused turnovers (14).
