BOSTON - Down a set with the final point up for grabs, freshman Leonie-Charlotte Athanasiadis rallied for the three-set win to help the Boston University women's tennis team stun No. 64 Dartmouth, 4-3, on Wednesday evening at the Track and Tennis Center.

Facing their third ranked Ivy League opponent of the season in a five-hour marathon, the Terriers (3-2) swept through doubles action for the first point and then split the six singles matches, as Dartmouth dropped to 1-3 on the season.

Already having defeated the top duo in the Northeast region from Yale, junior Stefanie Nunic and sophomore Vivien Laszloffy remained undefeated in the dual-season with an 8-3 win over the No. 6 team of Molly Scott and Melissa Matsuoka. BU captured the other doubles matches by identical scores of 8-5.

In singles action, Nunic dominated the 94th-ranked Scott, dropping only three games in the 6-3, 6-0 victory. After Dartmouth captured its first point at No. 4 singles, the reigning AE Player of the Week Laszloffy gave BU its third point with a 6-1, 6-4 win at No. 2 singles.

Dartmouth then won at No. 6 in two sets and No. 3 in three sets to put the outcome of the match in the hands of Athanasiadis and Sabrina Stewart. Showing great poise after losing the first set in a tiebreaker, Athanasiadis easily won the next two sets for the 6-7, 6-2, 6-2 victory.

After earning its third-straight win, BU will next host Davidson on Sunday (Feb. 13) with action set to begin at 9 a.m.
