
Sheridan Saluted as America East Defender of the Week

CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – Sophomore goalkeeper Christina Sheridan of the Boston University women’s lacrosse team was named America East Defender of the Week, the conference announced on Monday.
Sheridan (Ellicott City, Md.) made a career-high 15 saves, including 10 in the second half, in an 11-6 win over Canisius on Sunday. She bested her previous career high of 12 saves, which she set on March 15, 2011, at Notre Dame. Sheridan stopped three free-position attempts, compiled a .714 save percentage and also gathered two ground balls on Sunday.
The sophomore goalkeeper set a season low for goals allowed with six. Her previous best this season was eight goals allowed at George Mason on March 3. She is now 9-5 this season and ranks second in America East with 2.60 ground balls per game. Sheridan also ranks third in the conference with 7.73 saves per game.
BU will conclude its regular-season schedule on Saturday, April 28, when the Terriers travel to Binghamton. Game time is slated for 12 p.m.
