
Field Hockey Visits Holy Cross Friday Night

The Boston University field hockey team (6-3, 1-0 Patriot League) returns to its Patriot League schedule on Friday (Oct. 4) when it visits Holy Cross (3-6, 0-1 PL) for a 7 p.m. contest under the lights at Hart Turf Field. The game will be streamed live on the Patriot League Network.
The Terriers and Crusaders, who first met back in 1980, have not played each other since 1996. BU leads the all-time series, 14-2-1, and own a 14-game win streak after going 0-2-1 in the first three meetings.
BU is coming off a 3-1 triumph over Hofstra last Sunday after dropping a 1-0 overtime heartbreaker to American on Saturday.
All three of Holy Cross's wins this season have come at home, most recently a 2-1 overtime win against Bryant on Tuesday. The Crusaders fell, 4-0, to American in their only League contest and their other two wins came against Sacred Heart and Siena.
Junior Molly Feit leads the Crusaders in both points (6) and goals (3) while freshman Lauren Sunderland (2g, 1a) and sophomore Katy Cronin (2g) have added five and four points, respectively.
Junior Kat Matchett and freshman Maya Langman have split time in the Holy Cross goal this season and have combined for a 3.07 goals-against average and a .685 save percentage.
The Terriers have three players - senior Anne Fruitema, sophomore Sofi Laurito and freshman Amanda Cassera - with four goals each. Fruitema has an assist for a team-high nine points. Senior Ysi Schieb leads the squad in assists with five.
Junior goalkeeper Valentina Cerda Eimbcke boasts a 1.04 goals-against average and an .804 save percentage, which rank 10th and ninth in the nation, respectively.
