Women's Lacrosse Holds 2013 Alumni Weekend

BOSTON – This past weekend, the Boston University women’s lacrosse team welcomed back over 25 former players for the Terriers’ annual Alumni Weekend, which included a game between the current and former Terriers and the 2013 team banquet.
The Alumni Game kicked the weekend off, as the current Terriers took on a team of former Terriers on New Balance Field. The game was a great display of fight, hustle and stellar play that has always been the staple of BU lacrosse. The current Terriers came away with the win, defeating the alumni, 12-10.
The day concluded with the 2013 team banquet that honored the 2013 senior class – Danielle Etrasco, Kristen Mogavero, Monica Baumgartner and Kim Elsworth. The Terriers also honored last year’s award winners.
Elsworth and senior Sydney Godett were both recognized for being named to the IWLCA Academic Honor Roll while Godett also received America East Scholar Athlete accolades.
Junior Lindsay Weiner earned the Most Improved Player award after a breakout sophomore campaign in which she scored nine goals and ranked second on the team with 18 assists for a total of 27 points.
Sophomores Sofia Robins and Jill Horka were recognized for earning spots on the America East All-Rookie Team last spring while Horka also garnered America East All-Conference Second Team accolades.
Etrasco was recognized for the conclusion of her standout career at BU. The second-leading scorer in program history was named the Terriers’ Most Valuable Player in addition to earning America East All-Conference First Team honors for the third consecutive season. Etrasco earned IWLCA All-Region First Team honors and became the fifth player in program history to earn multiple IWLCA All-America honors, as she earned a spot on the 2013 Second Team. Additionally, Etrasco was the first player in program history to play on the U.S. National Team in the 2013 FIL World Cup, where she helped Team USA capture the gold medal.
