BOSTON - Senior back Ysi Schieb has capped her collegiate career by earning a spot on the Longstreth/NFHCA All-America Third Team, as announced on Monday.
After being named to the NFHCA All-Northeast Region First Team last month, Schieb now ranks among the nation's best in earning her first All-America honor.
Schieb, a co-captain from Gold Coast, Australia, enjoyed a standout senior season for a Terrier squad that posted six shutouts on the year. Her efforts gained the attention of the Patriot League coaches, as she was named the conference's Defensive Player of the Year. She also was a big factor on the offensive end, tying for third on the team with 13 points on three goals and a squad-best seven assists.
An All-Patriot League First Team honoree, Schieb participated in last week's NFHCA Division I Senior Game in Virginia and was one of two Patriot League players to earn All-America honors, joining American's Shelly Montgomery.
This is the fourth All-America honor for BU in the last three seasons, as Jacinda McLeod was a two-time honoree (2011, 2012) and Ella Gunson earned second-team honors last season.
