BOSTON – Senior Danielle Etrasco of the Boston University women’s lacrosse team earned Intercollegiate Women’s Lacrosse Coaches Association (IWLCA) Northeast All-Region First Team honors as announced by the organization on Tuesday.
Etrasco receives her third straight all-region honor from the IWLCA and is one of two players from the America East to be recognized on the first team in the Northeast.
The three-time America East All-Conference First Team member was one of two Terriers to register at least one point in every game this season as she finished with a team-high 79 points. Her 59 goals were the most she has scored in a season during her career while she also contributed a team-leading 20 assists. Etrasco led the team with 43 draw controls and was second on the squad with 21 caused turnovers.
The Massapequa, N.Y., native set the program’s single-game points record earlier this season against then-No. 15 Ohio State when she helped the Terriers to a 16-11 victory with 12 points (8g, 4a). Her 12 points were the second most points scored by a player in the NCAA this season and bested the previous school record of nine points, which Etrasco had accomplished with nine goals against Binghamton in 2012.
The Tewaaraton Trophy nominee ranks third in the nation with 3.69 goals per game and seventh in the nation with 5.0 points per game. Her 79 points this season also ranks 10th in all of Division I.
Etrasco is now eligible for inclusion on the IWLCA All-American teams, which will be announced on May 17. Last season, she was named a Third Team All-American.
