Team USA's Etrasco: 13 going on 13
Boston University women’s lacrosse head coach Liz Robertshaw and former BU standout Danielle Etrasco (’13) are set to join the U.S. Women’s Lacrosse National Team this weekend for the first of two training camps prior to the 2013 Federation of International World Cup in July.
Team USA will gather on the camps of UMBC in Baltimore, Md., from June 30 to July 2 for the first of two training camps. In addition to three days of training, the team will also host an alumnae game and attend a fundraising dinner with local youth parents and players in Baltimore on Saturday, June 29.
Following a brief break, Team USA will reconvene on July 5 at Niagara University in Buffalo, N.Y., for its second training camp and final practices before departing for the World Cup, which begins on July 11 in Oshawa, Ontario.
Etrasco became the first player in BU women’s lacrosse history to earn a spot on the final U.S. Women’s National Team roster that will represent the country in the World Cup. She capped her four-year career with the Terriers with an IWLCA All-America Second Team nod following her third straight IWLCA All-Regional First Team and America East All-Conference First Team accolades.
Etrasco joins Robertshaw who is an assistant coach for the U.S. Women’s National Team.
