BOSTON - The Boston University women's soccer team (7-3-3, 2-0-2 PL) stays in town for the next two games, starting with a Saturday matchup against Lafayette (4-7-0, 1-3-0 PL) at 2 p.m. on Nickerson Field. The Terriers (7-3-3, 2-0-2 PL) are currently on a five-game unbeaten streak and have yet to drop a conference match so far this season.
This will be just the second time the squads have met in program history, with the last instance being last season in the Terrier's inaugural season in the Patriot League. In that match, BU took a 2-0 victory over the Leopards with goals from Emma Clark and Clare Pleuler.
Lafayette has a 4-7-0 record this season and has claimed just one Patriot League contest so far this season, beating Holy Cross 3-2 in double-overtime last weekend, making BU and Lafayette the only schools to top the Crusaders all year.
The Leopards have won just two games on the road this season but have not seen a victory off of their home-turf since their first week of the season when they beat Saint Peter's 4-0 and then North Florida 1-0.
Jaclyn Giordano and Alyssa Finelli lead the team in goals with three apiece, and are tied with Kaelin King, who scored the golden goal last weekend against Holy Cross, for the most points on the team with six. Danielle Sedillo has seen the most minutes in net this season and is averaging 1.45 goals per game and has a 0.745 save percentage.
The Terriers enter the game in similar fashion, also having scored in the second overtime period in their last outing to comeback and beat Harvard 2-1. Jenna Fisher, who leads the team with six goals, scored to tie the game in the second half and Erica Kosienski notched the golden goal midway through the second overtime period to extend its unbeaten streak with Harvard to eight games.
