Shumock Earns Second PL Rookie of the Week Honor
October 13, 2014 | Field Hockey
Shumock recorded a pair of game-winning goals last week to help the Terriers stretch their win streak to three games before coming up just short of an upset versus No. 6 Connecticut.
On Wednesday at Providence, Shumock got BU on the board first in the 16th minute with a tip-in off the corner.
Three days later, Shumock scored the lone goal in a 1-0 League win over Lehigh at New Balance Field. She knocked in a rebound at the right post to lift the Terriers to their third straight win.
Shumock, who has seven points on three goals and an assist this year, joins Lafayette's Ellen Colbourne as the only two freshmen to earn the League's weekly rookie honor twice this season.
The Terriers will return to action on Friday (Oct. 17) when they play host to Holy Cross. Game time at New Balance Field is set for 7 p.m.
