Terriers Win First PL Title with 2-1 Victory at Bucknell
BOSTON - After capturing the Patriot League title, the Boston University field hockey team will open the NCAA tournament at No. 4 seed Syracuse in a Saturday (Nov. 15) first-round match-up, as announced on the NCAA selection show.
Winner of five straight contests, the Terriers (13-7) avoid the play-in game and will battle against the ACC runner-up Orange (15-5) in their first postseason appearance since 2007. BU is led by 34th-year head coach Sally Starr and has been playing its best hockey over the past month, winning nine of the last 11 games and allowing just 10 goals during the stretch.
Boston College (13-6) and Penn State (15-5) will meet in the other first round game at Coyne Stadium. The winners of the two contests will play on Sunday (Nov. 16) for a berth in the Final Four in College Park, Maryland.
Game times and ticket information will be posted on http://GoTerriers.com as they become available.
