December 16, 2014 | Women's Lacrosse
BOSTON - Highlighted by four 2014 NCAA Tournament teams, the Boston University women's lacrosse team and head coach Liz Robertshaw announces the team's 2015 schedule.
With 10-games on the road, BU will travel to nine different states including Colorado and Tennessee for competitions this spring.
"We are excited about the 2015 schedule that's been put together, including a solid group of non-conference opponents to go along with our Patriot League schedule," Robertshaw said. "We're looking forward to having both Denver and Vanderbilt back on our schedule, as well as the addition of Siena to round out our typical group of non-conference New England rivals - Dartmouth, Boston College and UNH. This is a schedule that will challenge our team from the start through the end of the regular season, and prepare us for a second year in the Patriot League."
The Terriers will head down to Brown for an exhibition game before kicking off their season on Feb. 14 against a new addition to the opponent list, Siena. This will be the first-ever contest between BU and the Saints.
Less than one week later the team travels south to take on Vanderbilt (Feb. 20), a squad the Terriers have not played since the 2010 season.
Feb. 25 marks the first of three straight home games as BU faces a familiar foe, Atlantic 10 Champion Massachusetts, at Nickerson Field. The Terriers then play Dartmouth (March 3) and American (March 7) before heading west to play Mountain Pacific Sports Federation Champion Denver, another NCAA tournament team, on March 11. The two squads have met twice over the last four years, most recently during the 2013 season.
BU will play six of its next nine contests at on the road, with the three home contests set for March 21, 28 and April 8 against Patriot League opponents Navy, Lafayette and Colgate respectively. On April 11th, the Terriers will travel to Baltimore to meet up with Loyola in a rematch of the 2014 Patriot League Championship, before playing UNH (April 15) and Bucknell (April 18) leading up to the Patriot League Tournament, which begins on April 21 at sites to be determined.
Following the conference championship, BU will head down Commonwealth Ave. to play 2014 NCAA Quarterfinalists Boston College on May 2 to finish its regular season schedule.
