CENTER VALLEY, Pa. – Senior Sydney Godett of the Boston University women’s lacrosse team was named to the Academic All-Patriot League Team, the conference office announced on Wednesday afternoon.
Godett earned a spot on the 12-member team that was voted on by the Patriot League’s nine sports information directors for her performance both on and off the field. The senior boasts a 3.67 GPA as a communications major and is set to graduate magna cum laude next month.
As a team-tri captain, Godett is one of four players to start all 17 games for the Terriers this season. The midfielder has recorded 11 goals and three assists for 14 points while adding 17 ground balls, 14 draw controls and five caused turnovers.
In BU’s 14-9 win over Lehigh in the Patriot League quarterfinals on Tuesday, Godett collected a team-high three ground balls while scoring a free position goal to help send the Terriers to the conference semifinals.
A two-time America East All-Academic team selection, Godett is a member of the BU Dean’s List and a recipient of the prestigious Scarlett Key honor. She is also a three-year member of BU’s Student-Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC) and serves as the secretary this year.
To be eligible for the Academic All-Patriot League Team, student-athletes must have at least a 3.20 grade point average and be a starter or key reserve.
Godett and the third-seeded Terriers will play No. 2 Navy on Thursday (April 24) in the Patriot League semifinals. The game is set to start at 7:30 p.m. at the Ridley Athletic Complex on the campus of Loyola Maryland.
