CENTER VALLEY, Pa. - Sophomore Allie Renzi of the Boston University field hockey team has been named the Corvais Patriot League Defensive Player of the Week, as announced by the league office Monday.
Renzi played a key role in helping the No. 17 Terriers to a 3-0 win over Lehigh on Saturday and made a pair of defensive saves in a 5-0 loss at No. 2 Connecticut on Sunday.
The BU defense limited Lehigh to seven shots (four on goal) and two penalty corners in the shutout win. Renzi was also one of three Terriers with a shot on goal against the Huskies.
Renzi has played in all 15 games this season, making 12 starts, and is tied for second amongst Patriot League players in defensive saves with three.
This is Renzi's first PL Defensive Player of the Week accolade. She was a two-time PL Rookie of the Week last year as a freshman.
